Waist-High Raised Cedar Garden Bed

This is a quick post on my waist-high raised bed garden project.

There was twenty feet of unused space on the South side of my house. This area gets full sun and was a perfect location for another raised bed garden.

Now a quick salad is only arms length from the back door.

What do you do for drainage of the water? I plan to build the garden using treated lumber 2 X 12 and 2 X 4 lumber with a thick plastic liner.

I used landscape fabric and the wood slats have a 1/2″ gap for drainage. I also used cedar instead of treated lumber since this bed is used for growing food. You can get 200+ ft of landscape fabric at Sam’s Club for $30.
